Architectural Design III

2014-2015 Fall Term

Dr. Derya Güleç Özer, Dr. Aysegül Akçay Kavakoglu

The aim of this studio was to encourage the use of design ability built up during the first and second years for programmatic development and design of a urban district focusing on movements. Gelibolu Harbour is chosen as the site, since various movements happen in this context. There students are expected to gain:

  • Understanding the forces that (re) form the city and its infrastructures.

  • The relationship between movement and the city in terms of user and the designer.

  •  An interpretation on movement as a design parameter in architectural design.
